Childhood Educator program at Collin College could be the perfect starting point for
you. The program emphasizes a developmental approach to promote the physical, social,
emotional and cognitive growth of the children. Students acquire knowledge and skills
that prepare them to create developmentally appropriate, nurturing environments.
Mission Statement
The mission of the Early Childhood Educator program is to prepare professionals through study and practical experience to enhance the lives and education of children and families, and to promote change in early childhood education emphasizing a focus on respect for diversity, community, and advocacy for the industry.

This program offers equivalent courses for the Child Development Associate (CDA) National Credential by The Council for Professional Recognition. If awarded, the following PLA opportunities can be applied to the Certificate Level 1 - Child Development Associate (CDA) and/or the Associate of Applied Science - Early Childhood Educator (0-8 Years).
